BRASS NUTS REVISITED
Loved and hated, but not forgotten: brass nuts. Brass (made from a
copper and zinc allow) gained popularity in the late 1970s and early
1980s among blues, rock, metal and country guitarists looking for more
sustain, clarity, brightness and tuneability. Brass proved to offer it all!
Even cheaper guitars at the time were equipped with brass nuts. In the
early 1990s brass nuts lost their popularity. But not for everyone!
Mid-2024 Macmillan Corporation Japan decided to revive and produce
a complete new line of brass nuts. "Brass stands out, and contributes
significantly to a guitar's tonal properties, yielding a bright and balanced tone.
It's got an unique and powerful sound", says Macmillan.

(Advice: keep the nut you removed as brass will transform your guitar's tone!)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- density and hardness results in enhanced sustain and brightness
- brass allows for more efficient energy transfer resulting in better note definition and clarity
- brass increases high-end frequencies and improved string-to-string separation (especially noticable in open chord voicings and single-note runs)
- improved sustain and resonance of brass nuts can make a considerable difference in both recording and live settings
- exceptional durability: brass nuts outlast their bone counterpart by years
- hardness resists the 'filing action' of the strings as they are tuned up or down
